PROJECT PORTFOLIO
THE CEDARS, BLAIRGOWRIE
04/2022
This beautiful traditional Victorian house was extended out two sides to include a new garage and garden room in order to create large indoor space with stellar views. We worked closely with a local architect in order to meet all of our client's requirements.
The project scope was to create a new garden room extension on the left side of the existing property and a new garage to the right, including a new retaining wall to form a walkway to the side door.
The garden room is a modern glazed space, incorporating a large rooflight and glazed external façade. The extension garage is totally different from the garden room as it is rendered in stone to match the original building and ties in to have a natural, original look.
All of the design and drawings were completed in-house by an expert engineer and the client is extremely satisfied with our work.
CHALMERS STREET, DUNFERMLINE
07/2018
A brilliant hidden traditional tenement house hidden in Dunfermline's City centre, behind which Blue Fox Engineering designed a new replacement garage with veranda and access to the garage from the main house.
This garage integration required intricate engineering as much of the existing structure was to be maintained. There was a lot of careful temporary works planning in order to prop-up the end of the historic extension.
The garage is complete with an electronic roller door, fixing points for hardware and an engineered balustrade.
RAGÙ PASTA, GEORGE STREET, EDINBURGH
08/2023
Our team completed the successful transformation of a high-street retail unit into a fully functional restaurant, complete with a newly constructed mezzanine floor and alterations in the basement to accommodate new toilets and staff area.
We provided end-to-end engineering services, including structural assessment, design, coordination with contractors, and full support through building control approvals. The result is a vibrant, multi-level dining space that maximizes the property's potential.
SUFFOLK ROAD, EDINBURGH
10/2022
This small scale project involved the design of a climbing wall to be built inside a lovely traditional building in Edinburgh.
Although seemingly simple in nature, the timber frame of the wall was developed specifically to suit the space for the client. Fixings were required to secure the wall into the wall behind and below floor in order to maintain robustness.
Blue Fox Engineering are happy to consider a variety of new and unique projects and this wall is only one small example of this.
